``Scotty: A brief definition of the ‘rules of karma’; are ‘universal rules’ of the universe and universal physics that are always enforced. It means, they have to be obeyed and you must respect them at all times, because you too are a part of the Cosmos. If any one slips up, the consequences could be disastrous. Therefore, everyone has to abide by them otherwise you’re out. ``Leila: What does that mean? ``Scotty: Reincarnated. ``Leila: What! Just like that? ``Scotty: Zaa. ``Leila: Heck! ``Wendy: They just come and take you away.

``Scotty: Many people have different duties in our ‘hot period’, and many are on fire watch duty, which is like a ‘fire walk’, by walking the forest and not the embers. We have to roam the forest logically and thoroughly every day, in the scorching hot suns. It is also your duty, that you stop and look at everything around you, and anything, which thinks it wants to smoulder, check it out. It does not matter how many times you do this, but the more the better. If you do find anything suspicious, mark the spot, and sound the alarm with ‘querist’ and wait for someone to arrive. We would rather have many false alarms, than any fire.

``Wendy: Absolutely. ``Leila: Certainly. ``Scotty: Here are some ‘sea salt’ tablets take one a day, and if you feel bad, take two. There are the equivalent trees around, such as the coconut tree, which will quench your thirst. The top of sand can burn your feet, so you can bury yourself within the sand, to keep you cooler. It is all logical, when common sense prevails as it becomes simple as ‘ABC’. If in any danger, just call out ‘Quag’. Do not expect an instant response, as it will take time for them to find your position. ``Leila: As in ESP? ``Scotty: In principle, but with many reservations. ``Leila: Thank you Scotty, for the pep talk. ``Scotty: I am sorry, but time is not on our side. ``Wendy: It’s okay Dad, I think you have lost the plot. ``Scotty: Oh dear! ``Leila: Now Scotty, can you please take us home to our Trulli? I need a cuppa! ``Scotty: Zaa, most sorry! --- Tomorrow I will take you down to the caves, where we stay in the very hot weather. ``Wendy: Excellent, in the meantime I want to freshen up, and get organized, as we have had a very long trip today, so I will not ask you in. --- ``Leila: Thank you, and good night, Scotty! ``Wendy: Ciao.

{Wendy’s Trullo} - [Next Day]
``Scotty: Zibo! ``Wendy: Zibo! I see what you mean, it is getting hotter, neither could I sleep, and it is already 43ºC and it is only 10th time. So will it reach 46ºC later today? ``Scotty: It could reach 60ºC, within the next few days ``Wendy: It’s a good job I brought some suntan lotion with us. Do you have anything similar? ``Scotty: I will pass a sample on to our pharmacy, to see if they can find something similar. ``Wendy: At least I am getting an all-over suntan. ``Scotty: Green against brown hairs and brown Bears! ``Wendy: Oh! Very funny. ``Leila: Hi Scotty, it is a little cooler in the woods and it is only 42ºC. So, I have been out and done the rounds. ``Scotty: We cannot have an ‘Ash Wednesday’ up here! ``Wendy: how droll!

``Scotty: Anyway, are you ready for a trip down the caves? ``Leila: Zaa. Let’s go. ``Scotty: I have been thinking how we can mark up the highways with a sign, so you can work out where you are! ``Wendy: Could we have something simple like; E is for Express route; C is for country route; N is for normal route; and L is for local route; and then a 3-digit number 000 to 999. ``Scotty: Zaa, that makes sense. ``Leila: I can get my head around that as well. ``Wendy: What happens with a compass? ``Scotty: Ah! That is a good question, and it is not reliable like it is on earth, so the only possible thing we could do, is to add a small double arrow pointing back towards home-village, being the Woodlands. Say on the left hand side of the symbol like this ‘«N005’. ``Wendy: That will do nicely and how about you Leila? ``Leila: Fine with me. ``Scotty: Okay, I will put it to the Elders. It will take us a little while to get to the caves, as it will be slow going, owing for the terrain, and some of the lane is corroding away, from heavy use.
