Captain, Donet, Kara, Leila, Selina, Tetra, Vanna, ~ 07

[Cont:] ``Donet: The potholers started off in the dry, but water was seeping out and dripping down the airshaft, sending pebbles and stones with it. The Caver slipped on the weathered rock fragments, and it propelled him over to the other side of the air shaft bouncing into some boulders causing them to collapse. This created a large rock slide on top of them and that too tumbled down blocking the airshaft, trapping their ropes. They became suspended in mid air and they could not go either up or down.

The experienced helpers did not know what they could do, and the air shaft is quite deep. A couple of the skilled helpers went down, but the rocks were jammed solid. It would take hours to get an outside expert in and to what effect. Their wives sent down hot drinks and food and I had an idea…

{Space Dock Tower ~ 2}
``Captain: You have done some wonderful work, especially on the Trawler. Skipper has been filling me in. It was an unusual job for a rescue and it is not easy landing on a Chopper pad out at sea. ``Vanna: It was hairy. ``Captain: The cave was a tricky one. ``Vanna: It was a calculated risk, but that could have go wrong at any time and I could have crashed. ``Captain: Do you really want an amphibian? ``Vanna: Zaa. ``Captain: There are around so how much? ``Vanna: I will go to our usual ¢5K. Pilot will have to overhaul it, as I would never trust a second hand one and that will give him something different work to moan about. ``Captain: I think I have found the last of the Hopi. ``Vanna: Get it, and try other worlds. ``Captain: Where are you going next? ``Vanna: It looks like the Sandy zone. ``Captain: None of these places exists. ``Vanna: I know that they do, but they are well hidden. No one believed me about Jester on P66. ``Captain: My crew still reluctantly agree that you found it. However It is munch time.
[Space Dock Restaurant]
``Kara: Quano Vanna. ``Vanna: Do I owe you anything? ``Kara: Loads and I will get the tab. ``Vanna: Put this lot on it as well, for two specials. ``Kara: Certus. ``Vanna: So what is the latest on you two? ``Captain: It is happening. We are going to have a betrothal ceremony. ``Kara: Enjoy. ``Vanna: My scroll card. ``Kara: Do you not want to check it? ``Vanna: Qaa. ``Kara: Zarfs. ``Vanna: There is another big one coming up shortly, like tomorrow! There will be 5 for 5 qefs. ``Kara: Okay I will sort it out. ``Captain: I keep forgetting to mention, it is amazing that you have 3 Temples working on visual. It is gathering interest. I am sure they have one on Cepheus. ``Vanna: I think so. I am waiting for them to contact me.

``Vanna: We are going tomorrow at the usual time. I have book the food with Kara, and Rasp has officially got the time off. So we are picking her up at PQ on route. ``Selina: I wanted to go to the nature planet, now you are up to your old tricks again! I Presume we are going to the glitter zone? ``Vanna: You get everyone to agree to go at the same time, and I will be happy to do it. Beings hum and ha, as they all wait for everyone to make a decision. Neither has Gina responded and this is why our Captain is like he is; and not because he wants to be. ``Selina: I will send out a final call. You would stick up for him anyway. ``Vanna: Qaa. I would support him, but he does not own me. ``Selina: Did I hear Candy? ``Vanna: I think you did.

``Tetra: Quano Mum I have a couple of qefs off, so Skipper picked me up with Candy, in V4. It is amazing at the velocity increase. ``Selina: You can make us all a drink. ``Tetra: Your usual? [Zaa's] ``Vanna: How have you been getting on at the Spa? ``Tetra: Beings are so stubborn or pedantic, and they have to be right. ``Selina: You mean you are not getting your own way? ``Tetra: Hah, ha, but the public are a pain to get on with. I have to eat humble pie, although they are still in the wrong and I have to try and explain things to them. ``Selina: We are off in the morning for a few qefs. So you are on your own.
